Why might you choose to have instant messaging or online therapy?
You might consider online therapy if you have limited mobility, have difficulty accessing transport, feel safer talking to someone in your own home or find it hard to fit a one-to-one therapy session into a busy schedule.
If you would like to access my online therapy service, please call on 07874 887 477 and I will be happy to discuss whether it is right for you. It is preferable for us to meet on a one-to-one basis for our first session but this is not essential.
When might it not be possible to have online therapy?
Online therapy isn’t suitable for everyone. These reasons may be if:
- You are experiencing frequent and intrusive thoughts of suicide
- You are at risk of harming yourself
- You are at risk of harm from someone else
- You are in crisis
If you are unsure whether this applies to you or whether online therapy services are right for you, please contact me and I will be happy to discuss your options.
How will we connect?
I use the VSee video platform for online therapy. VSee allows you to make free video calls via the Internet and been designed to meet the confidentiality requirements necessary for therapy and counselling. All you need is a computer with a web cam and a decent broadband connection. If you don’t already have a VSee account, the software is free and it is very easy to set an account up by following this link this link.
